What Are the Requirements for a Real Estate Website?

When developing a person real estate website for the purpose of promoting yourself, it is important to check with your state’s real estate commission to make sure you meet all of the requirements for a real estate website and other online internet real estate requirements.

These guidelines are available from the state of Pennsylvania for what a licensee should have on their personal real estate website or in their email marketing efforts. Basically you should have your name, your broker information, your license information, and your office address on EACH PAGE of the website.

It’s also not a bad idea to have the equal housing logo on each page as well and a disclaimer stating “information believed to be reliable but not guaranteed”. Make sure you check with your broker for other personal real estate website guidelines, as they may have personal website restrictions based on colors, logo, use of frames, or other information. You will also want to make sure you stay out of the MLS doghouse by making sure if you offer IDX listings they are in compliance with the MLS regulations.

What other important information do you think you should include on your personal real estate website and other online marketing efforts? Feel free to leave your suggestions in the comments below.
