One of the most common concerns for agents is how to prove their value and use as an agent to the consumer and get the real estate commission deserved. Recently while visiting the site Diary of a Broker I stumbled across an article asking the timeless question: To Use or Not to Use a Real Estate Agent.
In his article, Brian lists 10 excellent reasons why you should choose to work with a real estate agent. With more and more people being tempted to go FSBO in hopes of saving money and avoiding hefty real estate commission fees, it is more important now than ever to prove to them that you are valuable as an agent. You have to convince them of what services you can provide and how it is more beneficial to them to use an agent instead of trying to sell their home on their own.
Beyond FSBO’s there are also many people looking instead into discount brokers where they can have their home listed in the MLS for a flat fee. Other agents try to undercut their competition by working for only 5% or even 4% commission.
If you want to earn the commission you deserve, you MUST prove your value as an agent. You need to show them what you can do that they the seller or buyer cannot do on their own.

Proving your value as an agent will not only help you convert more FSBO’s but also help you in getting the real estate commission you deserve.
