I Am NOT a Lead…

Many of you may have seen this video before about real estate clients and how they feel about being treated at leads:

For many agents watching this video, it’s a hard pill to swallow. They’re not paying you for your time. They don’t care about your personal life. They only care about how many listings you have and how much you know.

What are your thoughts on this video? Do we treat our clients like leads? Or are these people ridicuolus in their expectations of an agent?

Oh my! Comments from another site or simply spam?

I think it made some valid points. Consumers should expect and get a certain level of service and respect.

This is true is some circumstances Brett - there has to be a lot of attention to the details and treating your clients like humans, not just another commission check.

I work with alot of agents and I find that the agents that see the most success are the ones that have a softer, less aggressive approach. They understand that you have to build value with the service you provide to seperate yourself from the pack.

I think you are right that more experienced agents may have less problems with this than the new ones as they already have the client base and not chasing wildly after leads.

This video makes sense. Although I think our clients like to know that we're not serial killers or just really odd, the fact that we're paid for our knowledge and our experience is very, very true. Unfortunately, getting there is hard and for new agents they have to try gimmicks before they get there.
